Timberline Toppers Square Dance Club

Select Saturdays, usually at 6PM

A fun activity of moving with a partner, in patterns as directed by the professional “caller”. For those without a partner, the Club welcomes singles and they enjoy dancing with several other singles. Square Dance is good exercise that is mentally challenging without fancy footwork. Most dances are at the Senior & Community Center.

Mainstream and Plus dances 1st and 3rd Saturdays. Lessons start in January with an introduction to Square Dance Party January 10, 2023. To view the Timberline Toppers calendar, please visit our website. For more details, please call 970-390-1604 or email Timberline@davebittner.com.

Tech Help

We are a volunteer team dedicated to helping Senior Center members with your technology issues and problems. We provide tech help sessions at the Senior Center on the first three Mondays of every month from 4:00 to 5:30 PM (except for Mondays with national holidays).  We also provide occasional monthly seminars on Saturday mornings.

To register for a Monday afternoon help session, please use our easy Online Sign-Up Form.  Please provide us with details on your needs, including what kind of device you own as well as a description of the issue you’re experiencing. Bring your devices with you so we can help you work with your own equipment.  Space is limited to six attendees (or partner pairs).  So, please be sure to sign up by 9:00 a.m. on the Friday before the session.

Scam Alert

Scams are recently on the rise.  According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), anyone who demands payments by gift card is always a scammer.  Gift cards should never be used as payments to someone asking for money.  Here is an FTC web link with more information on gift card scams.

Another fraud scheme that’s on the rise is the “imposter” scam.  For more information on various imposter scams, please once again visit this web link on the FTC website.

Zoom Webinar

Zoom is a free video conferencing app that allows you to set up a virtual get-together where you can visit with your friends & family.  On April 18, 2020, the Senior Center’s volunteer Tech Help Team conducted a webinar on how to use Zoom.  If you were unable to attend or would like to watch portions again, here are links to the accompanying slide deck and a useful article.  The webinar follows below.

Learn More About Loosey Goosey

Thanks for your interest in the Loosey Goosey Ski Group, our Après Ski potlucks and Summit 50 Plus.

Established in 1989, we are a loosely (Loosey Goosey) structured group of fun and active folks 50 years old and over who ski and ride together on specified days at local resorts and enjoy gathering at weekly socials during the season.

Our group, with a membership of over 200 local and visiting 50+ skiers, coordinates popular potluck après ski parties on most Thursdays, from 4 to 6, December through March at the Summit Community Center in Frisco. We are now part of Summit 50 Plus, a non profit organization, that is the social organization connected to the Center.

Our members participate in many local ski day programs including the Meetup 50+ Ski Group at Breckenridge on Tuesdays and at Keystone on Thursdays. When you attend our après ski parties you will always hear about other members joining up to travel to Loveland, A-Basin, Copper, Vail, Beaver Creek, Steamboat, Cooper and other resorts near and far.

Our nominal, but critical, annual membership fee this year of $15 helps cover the costs of weekly room rental fees, serving supplies, some beverages, and our annual membership party which is held in January. Members also receive our emailed announcements and updates, and a membership directory. All members must also belong to the Summit 50 Plus at an annual fee of $20.

Below is a link to the Summit 50 Plus online Membership signup, or to download an application which can be mailed. You can also join at the Summit County Community Center.

Online registration: https://summit50plus.org/membership/

For the 2022-2023 Après Ski Season, our members bring an appetizer, or beverages (wine/beer/soda) to share and meet at the Summit County Community Center on Thursday December 15 from 4:00 to 6:00 and from January 5, 2023 until March 30, 2023 every Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00.

Summit 50 Plus Golf Program

May through September

The Summit 50 Plus Golf Program is an excellent way to meet other Summit 50 Plus folks who have the same passion for the sport. The golf courses in the area are beautiful, challenging and provide opportunities for players of all skill levels. Golf courses in the program include the Keystone River and Ranch courses as well as the Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks.  Golf discounts are given for the Raven and Keystone courses. These include: green fees, merchandise and lesson discounts.

Three programs exist for the 50 Plus golfer:

  1. The golf program coordinator has arranged discounted green fees at each of the courses identified above for Summit 50 Plus members. To participate in this program, folks must be up to date on Summit 50 Plus membership dues and have purchased a Summit 50 Plus Golf Card at the Community Center for $5.
  2. Boomers on the Links: The Summit 50 Plus Golf Program promotes and supports a weekly Tuesday clinic at the Keystone River Course. During these outings, participants play nine holes of golf, receive a group lesson and are treated to lunch for a reasonable price. Those interested in this clinic should contact the Keystone Pro Shop at (970) 496-1520 to reserve a spot.
  3. Special golf outings are arranged at courses apart from those mentioned above. These outings give the Summit 50 Plus golfer an opportunity to try courses not played before. The group aims for two special outings in the summer during July and August.

If you would like to help with the Summit 50 Plus Golf Program, please call Tom McCullough at 630-880-8024 or email Tmccull567@aol.com.
